Pond sightings

pond sightings 1I’ve been exploring Regents Park and spent some time yesterday admiring its bird population from a viewing pond with a handy chart of its avian inhabitants and where they hail from. So many tiny ones! A whole flotilla of Shelducks, some sophisticated looking Egyptian geese, and a particularly brilliant Mandarin duck family: parents settling down for a nap and three little ones huddled together in a tight gathering of fluff, heads resting on each others’ backs, while the fourth was a tiny powerhouse of energy, busily paddling about in the water, rocketing back to dry land, and making a great to do about preening before joining the others. pond sightings 2
