Where I’ve been hiding

West Cottage garden in Wensleydale in Spring. I painted this card furtively and in sunny installments, running back inside when the rain became serious.

That’s Flinky lying amid the stubborn dandelions. There’s a stone toad by the pear tree, a blackbird in his usual spot on the wall, and a cat on our neighbour’s roof.

[For my mum on her birthday]

Beautiful Bea – elusive like the spring. I want to be there in the sunny spells!
